Fuels / Fuel Mix

In fiscal year 2006, TEPCO generated 314.5TWh (including purchased power) and supplied 287.6TWh of electricity to the Tokyo Metropolitan Area. Thermal power accounted for 55% of TEPCO’s power generation. Currently, 70% of TEPCO’s total thermal power was generated by LNG, LPG and other types of gas; in addition to 16% oil, and 14% coal.
