Opening Your Account

When relocating to a new residence, you will need to apply to open an account at the new residence; you may submit that application from this page. Please make sure that you read the following statement carefully before moving on to the application form.

You are able to connect electricity to your new residence simply by switching the circuit breakers to the "on" position. If you wish to start using electricity in your new residence today, but have found that the electricity in your new residence will not work even after switching the circuit breakers on, we will send a member of our service staff to your residence to connect the electricity; simply call your local TEPCO Customer Center (please note that after business hours, as well as on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, your call may be answered by a recorded message; however if you follow the recorded instructions, you will be connected with an operator).

Please note that this page is for applying to open an account in the event of relocation of residence only; for inquiries about electricity bills when relocating, please use the Closing your account page.

Please note that this form can be submitted 24 hours a day; however, service may be suspended temporarily without notice due to maintenance or other such circumstances.

You should be able to use electricity simply by switching the circuit breakers to the "on" position. If, however, you are planning to begin using electricity from today but your electricity will not work even after switching the circuit breakers on, please call your local TEPCO office. If you plan to begin using electricity at your new residence in the near future, but your electricity will not work even after switching the circuit breakers on, a TEPCO staff member will visit your residence. With your permission, we will have the staff member connect your electricity in your absence (in this case, please make sure that all electrical heating appliances are switched off, and that all other measures have been taken to prevent electrical fires).

3. Payment of bill

If you wish to have your electricity bill deducted automatically from your bank account, please fill out either: the open account application form left in your new residence; an automatic deduction form at the financial institution or post office that you wish to use; or a form at any TEPCO office. Please note that you will be sent payment forms for payment as normal until such time as the automatic deduction application procedure is completed.
