Nonconformances Found in the Inspection and Restoration Works Performed after the
  Niigata-Chuetsu-Oki Earthquake

Based on the "Public Announcement Regarding Nonconformance Found in the Inspection
and Restoration Works Performed after the Niigata-Chuetsu-Oki Earthquake", the Tokyo
Electric Power Company, Incorporated (TEPCO) provides this announcement containing
incidents information reported from July 3rd to July 9th, 2008.

 ○ Incidents Information (relating to the Chuetsu-Oki Earthquake)
Incidents Information (relating to the Chuetsu-Oki Earthquake)
< Reports from July 3 to July 9, 2008 >
Reports from July 3 to July 9, 2008
○ Other Findings • Information on Nonconformances (those related to: the Chuetsu-Oki Earthquake; Grades As, A, B, C, D; and non-graded)
* Numbers were corrected to reflect an addition of a nonconformance incident. • Unit No.3 The casing for the low-pressure turbine (C) has been opened and internal inspection of the turbine has been conducted since June 30, 2008. On July 4, wears with a maximum length of about 2mm have been found on the tip of rotor blades (from stages 9 to 11 of the shroud). Wears with a maximum length of about 1mm have been found on stators, presumably caused by impact with rotors. The location and size of wear of rotors and stators that were found this time are similar to those confirmed in low-pressure turbine (A) and (B). Wears on rotors and stators will be repaired. If similar wears were to be found in other units, we will notify the fact through this weekly report.
