Based on the "Public Announcement Regarding Nonconformance Found in the Inspection
and Restoration Works Performed after the Niigata-Chuetsu-Oki Earthquake", the Tokyo
Electric Power Company, Incorporated (TEPCO) provides this announcement containing
incidents information reported from October 16th to October 22nd, 2008.

○ Other Findings • Unit No.3 During inspection of the main exhaust stack radiation monitor sampling pipe, after removing the insulation, on Oct. 14, 2008, damage was found in the suction-side pipe. This led to the confirmation of the possibility of sucking in ambient air. Subsequent evaluation on the impact on radioactivity concentration measurement results due to suction of ambient air from the damaged pipe confirmed there is no impact. We will continue investigation on the cause of the damage of the pipe. We will also inspect the same pipe of other units as planned.
