Press Release (Jun 30,2011)
Future Operation of Unit 7, Kashiwazaki Kariwa Nuclear Power Station
We have been continuing the stable operation of Unit 7, which used to be
operated with fixed rated thermal output, by restraining the output with
the control rods partly inserted (restrained operation) since the fuel
leakage occurred on September 10, 2010. However, the future output is
supposed to be slightly below the rated output because of the increase of
the seawater temperature, which results in the decrease of the cooling
capability of the condenser, and the influence by the restrained operation.

We will stably operate it until the next regular inspection, having its
output decreased by up to approximately 9%.
