Due to the Tohoku-Chihou-Taiheiyou-Oki Earthquake which occurred on March 
11, 2011, TEPCO's facilities including our nuclear power stations have been 
severely damaged. We deeply apologize for the anxiety and inconvenience 
caused.
With regard to the accident at Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station, on 
April 17, we have compiled the roadmap towards restoration from the 
accident and then we updated the progress status of roadmap considering 
the current situation, on July 19. Accomplishment of the Step1 target 
"Radiation dose is in steady decline" has been confirmed. On August 17, we 
updated the further progress. 
By bringing the reactors and spent fuel pools to a stable cooling condition 
and mitigating the release of radioactive materials, we will make every 
effort to enable evacuees to return to their homes and for all citizens to 
be able to secure a sound life.

Below is the status of TEPCO's major facilities.

[Nuclear Power Station]
- Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station:
    Units 1 to 3: shutdown due to the earthquake
    (Units 4 to 6: outage due to regular inspections) 

* From 9:15 am to 0:10 pm on September 14, we sampled gases in the Reactor 
  Pressure Vessel of Reactor Building, Unit 1.

* At 9:47 am on September 14, we stopped the Spent Fuel Pool's 
  desalination system of Unit 4 to install an electric dialysis equipment. 
  At 0:25 pm on the same day, the desalination system resumed while we 
  continued operation of an alternative system to cool down the pool.

* At 9:53 am on September 14, we stared transfer of the accumulated water 
  from the condenser to the basement of Turbine Building of Unit 1.

* At 11:08 am on September 14, the Common Pool's cooling system was 
  shutdown to move a Common Pool Power Center so that we will replace a 
  power panel installed at the basement of Spent Fuel Common Pool.

* At 0:40 pm on September 1, we found 4 out of 6 partner company workers 
  contaminated when we were decontaminating the full-face masks of the 
  workers who were engaged in maintenance work of the water processing 
  system. By the use of whole body counter, we will check if they have 
  take in radioactive materials.

* At 2:59 pm on September 14, we will start injecting water into the 
  Reactor of Unit 2 through the core spray system. At 3:25 pm on the same 
  day, we adjusted the volume water at 1.0 m3/h. The volume of water 
  injected from the feed water system remains unchanged.

- Fukushima Daini Nuclear Power Station:
    Units 1 to 4: shutdown due to the earthquake

- Kashiwazaki Kariwa Nuclear Power Station:
    Units 5, 6: under normal operation
    (Units 1 to 4 and 7: outage due to regular inspections)

[Thermal Power Station]
- Power supply has returned to normal and facilities damaged by the 
  earthquake are now being handled in a timely manner.

[Hydro Power Station]
- Power supply has returned to normal and facilities damaged by the 
  earthquake are now being handled in a timely manner.

[Impacts on Transmission Facilities]
- Power supply has returned to normal and facilities damaged by the 
  earthquake are now being handled in a timely manner.

[Perspective of Power Supply and Demand Balance in this summer]
Thanks to our all customer's energy-saving efforts, we could successfully 
maintain an even supply-demand balance in this summer. We express our 
deepest appreciation to the efforts.

While we will continue to exert maximum effort to stabilize the supply-
demand balance, we kindly request your continued efforts in keeping 
electricity consumption within reasonable levels.
