Due to the Tohoku-Chihou-Taiheiyou-Oki Earthquake which occurred on March 
11, 2011, TEPCO's facilities including our nuclear power stations have 
been severely damaged. We deeply apologize for the anxiety and 
inconvenience caused.
With regard to the accident at Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station, on 
April 17, we have compiled the roadmap towards restoration from the 
accident and then we updated the progress status of roadmap considering the 
current situation, on July 19. Accomplishment of the Step1 target 
"Radiation dose is in steady decline" has been confirmed. On October 17, 
we updated the further progress. 
By bringing the reactors and spent fuel pools to a stable cooling condition 
and mitigating the release of radioactive materials, we will make every 
effort to enable evacuees to return to their homes and for all citizens to 
be able to secure a sound life.

Below is the status of TEPCO's major facilities.

[Nuclear Power Station]  

·Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station: Unit 1 to 3: shut down due to the 
 earthquake
 (Units 4 to 6: outage due to regular inspections)

- At 10:00am on October 31, transfer of accumulated water which was 
  transferred to temporally tank from Unit 6 turbine building to mega float 
  started.
- At 10:02 am on October 31, transfer of accumulated water from Unit 2 
  turbine building underground to centralized radiation waste treatment 
  facility(Miscellaneous Solid Waste Volume Reduction Treatment Building 
  [High Temperature Incinerator Building]) is suspended.
- At 10:12 am on October 31, we started injection of hydrazine to spent 
  fuel pool of Unit 2 through the circulating cooling system. At 11:50 am, 
  we stopped hydrazine injection.
- At 2:59 pm on October 31, we adjusted the amount of water injection to 
  the reactor of Unit 1 to approximately 7.5m3/h in order to improve the 
  working environment inside the covering, making it sure to mitigate the 
  steam emission at the reactor building of Unit 1.

·Fukushima Daini Nuclear Power Station: 
 Units 1 to 4: shutdown due to the earthquake

*Installation work of seismic isolation system in the exhaust stack started 
from November 2010 has been suspended since the occurrence of injury 
incident in the tower crane room due to the damage in the fixed portion of 
construction tower crane from the earthquake. As the implementation of 
safety countermeasure is completed, on October 31 heavy equipments were 
brought into the site for the replacement of the tower crane and 
installation work has restarted.

·Kashiwazaki Kariwa Nuclear Power Station:
 Units 5, 6: under normal operation
 (Units 1 to 4 and 7: outage due to regular inspections)

[Thermal Power Station]
- Power supply has returned to normal and facilities damaged by the 
  earthquake are now being handled in a timely manner.

[Hydro Power Station]
- Power supply has returned to normal and facilities damaged by the 
  earthquake are now being handled in a timely manner.

[Impacts on Transmission Facilities]
- Power supply has returned to normal and facilities damaged by the 
  earthquake are now being handled in a timely manner.

[Impacts on Power Supply and Demand Balance]
Thanks to our all customer's energy-saving efforts, we could successfully 
maintain an even supply-demand balance in this summer. We express our 
deepest appreciation to the efforts.

While we will continue to exert maximum effort to stabilize the supply-
demand balance, we kindly request your continued efforts in keeping 
electricity consumption within reasonable levels.
