Report to NISA upon results of investigation regarding the event that the subcontractor has not conducted the part of the welding company inspectionfor the secondary piping system of Genkai Nuclear Power Plant Unit 4 of the Kyushu Electric Power Company
Regarding the event that the Japan Power Engineering and Inspection
Corporation (hereinafter, "JAPEIC") did not handle a part of the welding
company inspection*1 appropriately in replacing the secondary piping
system of Genkai Nuclear Power Plant Unit 4 of the Kyushu Electric Power
Company, we have received the document*2 titled "Regarding the event that
the part of the welding company inspection has not been conducted
(Remainder and direction)" from NISA today.

In accordance with the direction, we investigated the items that have not
been conducted, concerning the welding company inspections of which
JAPEIC conducted as the subcontractor in the past, and reported to NISA
today.

As a result of our investigation, there was no welding company inspection
implemented by JAPEIC as a subcontractor at Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear
Power Station. At Fukushima Daini Nuclear power station and Kahiwazaki-
Kariwa Nuclear Power Station, we confirmed that there was no item that had
not been conducted in the welding company inspections conducted by JAPEIC.

The company inspection for the welding defined in the Article 52 of the
Electricity Business Act, to meet the technical standards established by
METI by the Article 39 Paragraph 1 of the Act, and to be conducted before
starting operation.
