Press Release (Jun 19, 2013)Submission of the Revised "Nuclear Operator Emergency Action Plan" for Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station, Fukushima Daini Nuclear Power Station and Kashiwazaki-Kariwa Nuclear Power Station

In accordance with the Act on Special Measures concerning Nuclear Emergency Preparedness which became effective in June 2000, the "Nuclear operator emergency action plan*" was developed for each nuclear power station.

The Act on Special Measures concerning Nuclear Emergency Preparedness stipulates that nuclear operators must review their "Nuclear operator emergency action plan" every year and make modifications if necessary.

According to the reconsideration, etc. of our On-Site Organization for Nuclear Emergency Preparedness, we have discussed the changes to be made on the "Nuclear operator emergency action plan" for each power station with Fukushima Prefecture, Niigata Prefecture and the local municipalities.

As the discussion with the local municipalities has been concluded and the preparation has been completed, we have submitted the "Nuclear operator emergency action plan" for each power station to the Prime Minister and the Nuclear Regulation Authority today.

*"Nuclear operator emergency action plan"
Stipulates nuclear disaster (escalation) prevention operations and operations necessary for restoration in the case of a nuclear disaster.
