This is follow-up information on the latest situation concerning the detection of high densities of Tritium and Strontium in the observation hole at the east side of the Unit 1-4 Turbine Buildings of Fukushima Daiichi NPS.

At 11:35 AM today (on August 15), we started pumping up groundwater from one well point (pumping facility using a vacuum, scheduled to be installed at 28 locations) installed east of Units 1 and 2 Turbine Buildings and transferring the pumped-up groundwater to the Unit 2 vertical shaft C..

As for the water transfer status, no abnormality such as leakage has been found.

Amount transferred to the vertical shaft C by this evening will be announced in the "Status of Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station (handouts at press conference)".
