Fukushima Daiichi NPS Prompt Report 2013

Fukushima Daiichi NPS Prompt Report (Aug 17, 2013)Water Leak from the Underground Reservoirs in Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station (Follow-up Information No.216)

This is follow-up information regarding the water leak from the underground reservoirs at Fukushima Daiichi NPS since April 5, 2013.

As for result of all β sampled at the drain hole (northeast side) of the underground reservoir No.3, the amount was 6.3 x 10-2 Bq/cm3 on August 12 and has been increased since August 13. Since there is a possibility that this increase is a fluctuation in the measurement value, we have been checking transition of data. However, we have judged that the result is on the upward trend since the amount obtained today (on August 17) was 6.6 x 10-1 Bq/cm3.

Transition of the analysis results and the water level, etc. of the underground reservoirs will continue to be intensively monitored.

No significant change was found on the other analysis results compared to the previous results.
