Fukushima Daiichi NPS Prompt Report 2013

Fukushima Daiichi NPS Prompt Report (Sep 25, 2013)Water Leak at a Tank in the H4 area in Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station (Follow-up Information 50)

This is follow-up information on the "water leak at a tank in the H4 area in Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station" found on August 19.

The measurement result of tritium in a sample newly obtained from the observation hole (E-5) around H4 tank area on September 24 was below the detection limit value (the detection limit value: 120Bq/L).
* The observation hole E-5 is located on the south of the observation hole E-4.

<Observation hole E-5 (new)>
- Sampled on September 24
Tritium: Below the detection limit value (the detection limit value: 120Bq/L)
All β: 100Bq/L (previously announced)

The measurement result of tritium obtained at E-1, E-2, E-3 and E-4 on September 24 had no significant change, compared to the measurement result obtained on September 23.

Based on the possibility of influence on these results by leakage in H4 area tanks and leakage from the concentrated salt water transportation pipe treated with desalination apparatus (reverse osmosis membrane type) on March 26 and April 5 in 2012, we will continue to monitor the situation.
