Challenges of TEPCO

  1. Energy & Resources

Oil is the main fuel which ranks second to LNG in TEPCO. Oil-fired power plays an even greater role in keeping up with power demand fluctuations. TEPCO uses low sulfur crude oil (around 0.1% to 0.3%) which comes from Indonesia, and Australia etc. and also purchases new crude oil in response to demand fluctuations and following competitiveness. Middle Eastern crude oil which contains high sulfur must be refined to make low sulfur fuel oil in order to meet environmental requirements.
