TEPCO is participating in a gas field development and gas production project centering on the Bayu-Undan Gas Field (located 250 kilometers off the southern coast of Timor-Leste and 500 kilometers offshore from Darwin in Australia), and a pipeline transport and liquefaction project using this gas.
The production and sales of gas-condensate and LPG started in 2004, and the production and sales of LNG began in 2006.
In conjunction with the LNG shipping project that started in 2003, this is the first time for a Japanese power company to be involved in the entire LNG value chain, from the development of natural gas, to liquefaction, transport, regasification, consumption and sales. |
