"Consideration of Electricity Supply to the Western Areas" (Executive Vice President of Tokyo Electric Power Company), an article of Nikkei Shimbun dated July 12th
July 12, 2011
Tokyo Electric Power Company

Considering the tight electricity supply and demand, at this moment, we are not planning to provide electricity to the 60Hz areas and will continuously expect to enjoy electricity from the areas.

On the other hand, if we have enough electricity to provide to the areas and are requested to do so, upon contemplating electricity supply and demand on the day, we would like to consider providing electricity to the extent of surplus electricity. However, it is our first priority to balance the electricity supply and demand and secure the necessary supply in our and Tohoku Electric Power Company's service areas, where "Restriction on Use of Electricity" in Article 27 of Electricity Business Act is declared, and we will make every possible effort to secure the electricity supply.

We deeply apologize to all of you for any inconveniences and anxiety that this accident resulted from our nuclear power station has caused to you.
