Fukushima Daiichi NPS Prompt Report 2013

At around 12:33 PM today (on August 12), an alarm indicating high radiation dose went off at the continuous dust monitor installed in front of the Main Anti-earthquake Building at Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station.

Due to this, an instruction has been given to put on full-face (half face) mask in the areas not requiring full-face mask in the power station site at 12:48 PM on the same day. Currently, the status of the continuous dust monitor is being confirmed, and measurement using a portable dust sampler is being performed at the site. We will announce the status soon after it is ready.

No abnormality on the plant data (reactor injection water amount, spent fuel pool water temperature, etc.) and no significant change in the monitoring post data have been found. Also, no significant change was found on the readings of continuous dust monitors installed at locations other than the Main Anti-earthquake Building, so we assume that there is no impact on the outside of the power station.
