Fukushima Daiichi NPS Prompt Report 2013

Fukushima Daiichi NPS Prompt Report (Aug 22, 2013)Tritium Density Result of Water Quality Survey inside the Port of Fukushima Daiichi NPS (Follow-up Information 40)

This is follow-up information on the latest situation concerning the detection of high densities of Tritium and Strontium in the observation hole at the east side of the Unit 1-4 Turbine Buildings of Fukushima Daiichi NPS.

In order to block the Unit 2 branching trench (the vertical shaft B and the power cable trench) installed east of Unit 2 Turbine Building, we planned to transfer the contaminated water accumulated in the trench into Unit 2 Turbine Building . At 2:55 PM today (on August 22), we started the transfer.

We patrolled the site to check on the transfer at 3:00 PM, and found no abnormality such as leakage.

With regards the conditions and results of this transfer work, we will make an announcement after the whole transfer work is completed.
