Fukushima Daiichi NPS Prompt Report 2013

Fukushima Daiichi NPS Prompt Report (Nov 26, 2013)Leakage of Accumulated Water inside H9 Tank area in Fukushima Daiichi NPS (First issue and the follow-up information)

This morning (on November 26), on a contaminated water tank patrol, we found that the water inside the dike dropped from the dike drain valve at H9 tank area at a pace of a drop per second.

At 5:00 PM today (on November 26), we tightened that dike drain valve, and the dropping stopped.

We found no water puddle at the dropping point, but a water blot with a diameter of approx. 2 centimeters.

As a result of analyzing the accumulated water inside the dike, both cesium-134 and cesium-137 were below the detection limit value, and strontium was 4.0Bq/L. Therefore, we determined that the dropping water from the dike drain valve was rainwater.

*Measurement results of accumulated water inside the dike at H9 tank area (sampled on November 26)
Cesium-134: Below the detection limit value (Detection limit value: 12Bq/L)
Cesium-137: Below the detection limit value (Detection limit value: 18Bq/L)
Sr-90: 4.0Bq/L

We will replace that dike drain valve later.
