Introducing Power Saving Measures for the Summer

During the summer months, we would appreciate your cooperation in conserving electricity by implementing various effective measures such as significantly reducing air conditioner and lighting facility use as much as possible as well as coordinating with our customersf operational framework (facilities, time of operation etc.). Below are some helpful energy conservation tips.

Please go here to view today's "Graph of Status of Power Usage"

Power Saving Measures (for each facility)

The facilities used in office buildings / factories are categorized into the following three types.
(1) Air conditioners (Cooling), (2) Lighting / Outlets, (3) Other facilities
It is best to implement appropriate power saving measures in accordance with each facilities' unique characteristics.

1 Air Conditioners (Cooling)

  • Set the room temperature at 28 degrees C as a general rule.
  • Turn off the air conditioner in non-usage areas and common spaces.
  • Reduce the load of the air conditioner by screening out sunlight (use blinds or curtains)
  • Reduce the load of the air conditioner / power by optimizing the intake rate of fresh air.
  • Improve efficiency by screening out sunlight from outdoor units.
  • Clean the heat exchanger and filter.

Recommendation to have air-conditioning facilities undergo maintenance

2 Lighting / Outlet

  • Turn off lighting / thin out lighting in non-usage areas and common spaces
  • Instead of lighting / thin out lighting utilize sunlight
  • Switch over to conserving fluorescent lighting and LED
  • Switch off automated office equipment if you will temporarily be away from your desk
  • Unplug the tea server and electric lavatory seat.
  • Unplug appliances that are not being used

3 Other facilities

  • Introduce the "Demand Control System"
  • Change the preset temperature of the showcase with the refrigerator / freezer
  • Implement partial stops of elevators and escalators
  • Implement appropriate maintenance for facilities
  • Do not have facilities set on stand by
  • Prevent heat discharge from the heating furnace and heating facilities
  • Reduce the supply pressure for compressors

    etc

Power Saving Measures by Coordinating Operations

Implement partial stops of facility usage and shift operations over to night hours

Reduce power load by coordinating with our customer's operational framework (Operational time of facility being used)

ec. Implement partial stops of facility usage, shift operating times to periods of low power load

Partial Stop of Facility Usage

Shift operations to the Nighttime

Use of a Private Generator

Customer-owned private generators saves on the amount of energy needed from the power system. In this case, it is important to implement an appropriate usage pattern in accordance with the customer's operating framework and usual fuel prices.

Operation pattern

Peak cut operation...generate during the hour when the load curve increases

Basel load operation...generate long hours at rated operation

*It is necessary to comply with the related laws and ordinances when starting up a private generator that has been at rest.
