TEPCO Electricity Forecast for summer
Thank you for using "TEPCO Electricity Forecast". We develop the summer version of electricity forecast from July 1 to September 30. Specifically, we have added following two items.
1)"Hourly Demand forecast" (consumption prospect, weekday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.)

Recovery of Unit 2 at the Kashima Thermal Power Station
The operation of Unit 2 of Kashima Thermal Power Station, which had been suspended due to steam leakage from a tube (a metal tube with approx. 5 cm in diameter) in the boiler found on April 21, 2014 (Mon), is now ready to operate after repairing the damage and inspecting its surrounding area. It is estimated that the part holding the upper part of the pipe in question came off due to aging and got stuck in the tube which resulted in reducing the flow volume of steam and caused heating up the tube to an unexpected temperature to get damaged.

Recovery of Unit 2 at the Higashi Ohgishima Thermal Power Station
Unit 2 at the Higashi Ohgishima Thermal Power Station was shutdown on April 22, 2014 (Tue) due to the steam leakage from tubes (metal tubes with approx. 5 cm in diameter) in the boiler. And at 5:38 AM today (April 28. 2014), its power generation has been restarted after repairing the damaged parts and checking the surrounding area.
It is estimated that the reheater* in the boiler was heated up to an unexpected temperature by burning gas due to its aging deterioration, which caused the damage. *: A device to reheat the steam sent from high pressure turbine to run intermediate pressure turbine.

Restart of Unit 2 of Shinchi Power Station of Soma Kyodo Thermal Power Co. Unit 2 of Shinchi Power Station of Soma Kyodo Thermal Power Co. (Location:Shinchi Town, Soma County, Fukushima Prefecture, Main fuel: Coal, Rated capacity: 1,000 MW, Amount of electricity TEPCO receives: 470 MW) had been shut down since February 2, 2014, as a leakage had confirmed inside its boiler. The power station restarted its generation at 2:00 PM on March 11, 2014, and it is included to our supply capacity.

Start of trial operation of Group 3 Unit 3 of Chiba Thermal Power Station
Start of trial operation of Group 3 Unit 3 of Chiba Thermal Power Station Currently, construction is ongoing to replace gas turbine power generation equipment in the site of Chiba Thermal Power Station (Plant Chief: Akio Matsuzaki, location: Soga-machi 2-1377, Chuo-ku, Chiba City, Chiba Prefecture, rated output: 334MW x 3, thermal efficiency: 39.0％, fuel: LNG) with combined cycle power generation equipment in order to increase output and generation efficiency. At 9:50am today (March 5), the construction of Group 3 Unit 3 (rated output after installation of the combined cycle power generation equipment: 500MW, thermal efficiency: approx. 58％) was completed, and the trial operation of the power generation has been started.
Group 3 Unit 1 and Group 3 Unit 2 started their operations on trial on December 4, 2013 and January 15, 2014 respectively, and with the trial operation of Group 3 Unit 3, all of the Units in the Group have started generating power. Towards the commencement of commercial operation, while making adjustment of combustion equipment etc. to ensure stable operation of the power generation facility, inspections stipulated by law will be performed.

Start of Trial Operation of Unit 4 of KAZUNOGAWA Power Station
Currently, we are proceeding with construction of Unit 4 at the Kazunogawa Power Station to increase facilities (Location: Otsuki-city and Koshu-city, Yamanashi prefecture/ Rated output: 40,000 kW / Model type: pumped-storage hydroelectric power generation), today, February 26, at 14:31PM, its trial operation of the power generation has been started.
Now on, various tests will be carried out until the business operation is started in accordance with relevant regulatory and salutatory requirements together with checking the performance and integrity of the power station facilities to ensure that the facilities will be running in a stable manner.
