Recovery of Unit 2 at Hirono Thermal Power Station
On October 13 (Sun), the power generation was suspended at Unit 2 in Hirono Thermal Power Station due to the lower pressure for oil pump to seal up the hydrogen gas for the generator cooling. Later, repair of damaged part and inspection of surrounding part were completed by yesterday.
Since we have judged that the electricity demand for today (November 1 (Fri)) is stable, Unit 2 is under a standby status. The cause of the incident is that oil pump bearing was damaged due to deterioration over time, and capability of pump has degraded. Therefore, we replaced the damaged oil pump bearing.
