[Movie] Stabilization and Decommissioning of Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station by applying robot technology[Movie] Stabilization and Decommissioning of Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station by applying robot technology

We apply remote techniques to stabilize the accident and to promote decommissioning process in Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station.
So far, robots have been taking our place to research inside reactor buildings and to reflect the results to the plans, which contributes to the reduction of operational risk of radiation exposure.
We are expecting to apply remote techniques further to the operations, such as the decontamination of the high-dose radiation area inside the reactor buildings and the removal of fuel debris from the reactor contaminant vessel or the reactor pressure vessel.
Many corporations and organizations both domestic and overseas have been supporting and cooperating on robots and the related technologies. We really appreciate those who have been cooperating with us since the accident and would like to promote long-term decommissioning processes steadily with the understanding and cooperation of many.
In this page, we are going to summarize robot applications inside the reactor buildings, which have been introduced chronologically in the "Photos and Videos Library" of our web page since the accident.

IRID

International Research Institute for Nuclear Decommissioning (IRID) is an organization to research and develop technologies necessary for decommissioning by integrating wisdoms both domestic and overseas. Currently it sets the decommissioning of Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station as an urgent issue and tackles the related research and development.
