On September 26, Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga visited the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station.

The Prime Minister was shown treated water storage tanks and the land-side impermeable wall, and was given a good look at decommissioning efforts underway from high ground on the west side of Units 1~4, where radiation reduction measures are being implemented. The Prime Minister was also briefed on the characteristics of water treated with multi-nuclide removal equipment (ALPS).

During the tour, Prime Minister Suga said, "I know this decommissioning is a difficult task, but keep working safely and steadily. We in the government will also do our utmost to and work diligently with you."

TEPCO will continue to move steadily and safely forward with the long-term decommissioning process with the understanding and cooperation of society.
