On December 24, the governor of Miyagi prefecture, Yoshihiro Murai, visited the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station.
The Governor was given a good look at decommissioning efforts underway from high ground on the west side of Units 1~4, and was also shown multi-nuclide removal equipment (ALPS), the water storage tank area and the ground water bypass. The Governor also looked at analysis data on the characteristics of water treated with ALPS and was given a sample bottle of such water to examine.
TEPCO will continue to move steadily and safely forward with the long-term decommissioning process with the understanding and cooperation of society.
