Driving the Future with Electric Vehicles
Initiatives to Accelerate EV Adoption
Joining the Global EV100 Initiative
The TEPCO Group is leading by example, starting with the electrification of its own fleet.
Since joining EV100* in May 2019, we have set ambitious targets: electrifying 50% of our 3,600 business vehicles by FY2025 and achieving 100% by FY2030. By the end of FY2023, we have already reached 27%, with 920 vehicles electrified. To achieve zero CO2
1emissions during driving, we purchase Green Power Certificates from Japan Natural Energy Co., Ltd. This ensures that the electricity used for charging carries the environmental value of renewable energy, making our vehicle operations carbon-free. We leverage insights gained from our own EV adoption—addressing challenges and gathering best practices across the company—to deliver innovative solutions to our customers.

Initiatives under the "Electrified Vehicle Utilization Promotion Consortium"
The consortium, with TEPCO HD serving as its secretariat, brings together companies planning to introduce EVs and automakers. Its goal is to create an environment that facilitates EV adoption by consolidating user needs for business vehicles and providing recommendations to automakers. These recommendations aim to standardize specifications—such as vehicle size, driving range, and cargo space—aligned with actual use cases and operational requirements. It also addresses challenges related to EV deployment and works to resolve issues surrounding the development of charging infrastructure.
As part of these efforts, we have developed the "Guidelines for Charging Infrastructure Development." We hope these guidelines will assist in addressing challenges during EV implementation, particularly for those responsible for vehicle procurement and charging infrastructure.
