Employee Engagement
Our Fundamental Approach
To stay competitive in a rapidly changing environment, we regard enhancing employee engagement as essential. We use three indicators—"job satisfaction," "sense of growth," and "work-life balance"—and measure them through an annual company-wide employee survey.
Internationally, "happiness" is often equated with "well-being," which refers to a state of physical and mental health. We believe that higher engagement enables employees to feel happiness in both work and life while performing at their best. Therefore, we also measure employee well-being as a key indicator.
Promotion and Governance Framework
The employee survey is conducted annually by TEPCO Holdings, covering all employees across the TEPCO Group, including core operating companies.
Survey results are promptly shared with each organization, enabling them to independently develop initiatives to enhance engagement based on their strengths and areas for improvement.
Key Initiatives
In FY2021, compared to the previous year, the TEPCO Group saw increases of 0.02 points in "Job Satisfaction (Sense of Purpose at Work)", 0.05 points in "Sense of Growth", 0.06 points in "Work-Life Balance", and 0.01 points in "Employee Well-being".
These results are reported to management via the Corporate Ethics Committee and complemented by feedback from external experts, which helps shape company-wide initiatives. We also promote continuous awareness of employee well-being through the intranet and designate reinforcement periods during which each organization intensively implements measures to improve job satisfaction and work-life balance.
