Our Fundamental Approach

To stay competitive in a rapidly changing environment, we regard enhancing employee engagement as essential. We use three indicators—"job satisfaction," "sense of growth," and "work-life balance"—and measure them through an annual company-wide employee survey.

Internationally, "happiness" is often equated with "well-being," which refers to a state of physical and mental health. We believe that higher engagement enables employees to feel happiness in both work and life while performing at their best. Therefore, we also measure employee well-being as a key indicator.

Figure: The relationship between 'happiness level' and 'purpose of work/life' is that they mutually enhance each other.

Promotion and Governance Framework

The employee survey is conducted annually by TEPCO Holdings, covering all employees across the TEPCO Group, including core operating companies.
Survey results are promptly shared with each organization, enabling them to independently develop initiatives to enhance engagement based on their strengths and areas for improvement.

Key Initiatives

In FY2024, compared with the previous fiscal year, the TEPCO Group recorded a decline of 0.12 points in "Work-Life Balance". Meanwhile, "Job Satisfaction" increased by 0.01 points, "Sense of Growth" by 0.07 points, and "Well-being" by 0.01 points.
These results are reported to management through the Corporate Ethics Committee and other channels. We also incorporate feedback from external experts to inform Group-wide initiatives. In addition, we continuously promote awareness of “Well-being” through the intranet and designate focused periods during which each organization implements measures aimed at improving “Job Satisfaction” and “Work-Life Balance”.
